Paleo fat bombs are a snack that I always had in the fridge at home in the UK. They are super easy to make, taste delicious, are nutrient dense and fill a hole until your next meal. Additionally, they are great for curbing cravings.
Firstly, I want to say sorry for the delay in getting this recipe up. The last few months have been manic, packing up home in the UK to go travelling with my partner. Due to this, I only have one image that was taken using my mobile. But I am sure, it’s only the recipe you are interested in.
I am currently writing this blog post from our hostel in Chiang Mai. It has been tipping it down with rain all day! Making it the perfect opportunity to blog this recipe for you guys.
The great thing about fat bombs are that they are low in carbohydrate. This recipe has no added sweetener at all, but you could add some if you like. Maple syrup, honey or stevia would work well, you could even try some coconut sugar. Personally, I like them without added sweetness.
I created this recipe not only to curb mid meal cravings, but to also assure it was easy to get my daily adaptogens in. I added maca and reishi powder, but again you could add your preferred herbs to the mix. What I really love about fat bombs, is that you can make the recipe to suit your own preferences. There really is not a specific recipe that wouldn’t work. I generally just go with what nuts, seeds and herbs I fancy, throw them all together and wait for the outcome.
You may now be wondering what is an adaptogen? Let me enlighten you. An adaptogen put simply, is a group of herbs that help the body cope with stress and fatigue. They do this by helping the body adapt in regulating hormones. There are many different adaptogenic herbs, and they all help in slightly different ways. Most importantly, they taste great, perfect for adding to recipes to create different flavours.
I also added collagen powder to support my gut, skin, nail and hair health and flax seed powder to support my hormones. Again these are optional, you can play around with whatever nuts, seeds and herbs you have to hand. The main ingredient is the coconut (creamed or butter).

Firstly add the creamed coconut to a pan and melt slowly on a low heat. You can also use a microwave to soften. When fully softened remove from heat.
Next add all other ingredients and mix until combined.
Then pout into a lined dish or pan. I used a loaf tin as I like the shape it comes out. Pop into the fridge or freezer until firm. This will take around 20 minutes.
Remove when firm, cut into pieces and store in the fridge or freezer until needed.
